When are Tours?

We currently offer tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays at noon, 1pm, and 2pm. Tours are year round. Occasionally in busy seasons we have additional tours. During rainy seasons we may reduce tours. 


How do I purchase Tickets? Tickets are $22 for adults, and $17 for kids. All proceeds go towards restoration efforts.

Can I visit the Lighthouse on my own?

The property Point SLO Lighthouse resides on is owned by Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. For the sake of security the road and hiking trail to the Lighthouse are closed to the general public. You can however kayak to the Lighthouse on your own and walk around the buildings and enjoy the scenic views!

Parking is Located at Wild Cherry Canyon. Stay on Avila Beach Drive on your way to Port San Luis. 

On your right side there is a parking lot, there will be Lighthouse banners on the fence.  

The gate may be closed, pull up and check in with the gate attendant. 

 Lighthouse Grounds Regulations

The lighthouse is committed to being a smoke free environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited on the property.

Pets are not permitted on tours. Prior notice must be given to Lighthouse staff if you are planning on bringing a service animal.

Photography and flash photography are permitted on tours, however tripods and video are not. Guests who arrive with video cameras will be instructed to leave them in their cars. 

We ask that guests leave food and beverages in their cars. Water and light snacks are permitted. 

Due to the property being next to Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, Drones are strictly forbidden.
